Ramadan** Do You Know The Meaning of Surah At Tin?**?

Asalamualeikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuho

May Allah swt watch over you and guide you all. Ameen

Dear brothers and sisters,

Surah At Tin while being a short Surah hides within it an amizing amount of Wisdom for those who seek to learn and truly examine its meaning. It not only references Prophet Muhammad saaws by referencing where he was from in Mecca. But also includes Two of the Mightiest prophets that Came before him as well.

1. By the Fig and the Olive,

Here Allah swt swears by two symbolic items – the Fig and the Olive.
The strongest opinion is that this refers to Jesus or Prophet Isa pbuh.

In the Gospel of Matthe in the bible the Mount of Olives a site in Jerusalem is a place in which Isa pbuh is referenced to being one also finds the fig in the same chapter. “As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? . . . Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.” (Matthew 24:3-32, Online NIV)

There is another passage in Matthew in which Isa pbuh curses a fig tree that bears no fruit (Matthew 21:18).

2. And the Mount of Sinai,

The reference here is much clearer than in the last ayah.
This is an allusion to prophet Musa pbuh.
It was on Mount Sinai that Prophet Musa pbuh received the Taurat from Allah swt, along with the 10 commandments. The five books of the Torah served as the basis for the first five books of what Jews and Christians call The Old Testament. The main message of the Old Testament tells people to worship one God and to avoid major sins like adultery and murder. These principles are the common heritage of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. As Prophet Musa pbuh lay many foundations for what was to come with prophet Isa pbuh and Prophet Muhammad saaws.

3. And this City of Security

Since this surah was revealed in Mecca, the City that Allah is referring to is Mecca. Prophet Muhammad saaws called Mecca home and it was also the city where Prophet Ibrahim pbuh and Ismail pbuh settled their families and built the Kaaba. Because Mecca was a center for Hajj and pilgramidge it was known as a safe haven for anyone who visited.

So just in the opening of At Tin Alone we find the remembrance of Prophet Jesus pbuh Musa pbuh and the confirmation of Prophet Muhammad saaws. The fact that Prophet Muhammad saaws appears last in this great line of prophets is absolutely important as it is showing the degree in which Prophet hood has passed down to the final prophet with the final message for mankind.

There is no doubt that the rest of At Tin contains an equally important message.

This beautiful Surah like the entire Quran is beneficial to us all. Much more so when we stop to examin its true and deepest meaning.

Hope this helps! Salaams :) The Details are not complete but I wanted to Highlight the Succession of Prophet hood as it is alluded to in At Tin. Inshallah khair I sall continue on with further details later. Jazakallah khair :)
Wa alaikum salam wa rahamatullahi wa baraktuh.

JazakAllah for sharing; italian palestinian one :)

A gift from Allah that will change ur life forever…?

I posted this before but i’ll share again for those who haven’t seen..
it’s lovely mashallah :)

Tauheed- Laillaha illalha muhammadu rasoul Allah from the bottom of the heart…….

salat-25 mins from 24 hours

Fasting-30 days from 365 days

zakat- less then 5% from all our wealth

Hajj- Once in a life time………..

"He [Allah] has not laid upon you in religion any hardship."(22.78)

then why do people run away from islam and only long for worldy life…….make a pause think what are we doing…..? Are We really going on the rigth path and what have we gained from it??

do our family, friends n other people respect us for this…..?? and when any hardship comes upon us, We turn to Allah (swt) who is Merciful and when we happy we dont even Remember Him, Have you ever think how many days it has been gone and we dont even remembered Him…..

We dont even remembered the One who created Us and put in us life without Him we have never been here in this world………..

Just imagine…..The angel of Death is behind you and this is the last moment of your life, What will you do?? Ofcourse u’ll ask Allah to Forgive you…but there will be no use because the time of repentence will end..u’ll ask Allah to give you time so that you Can pray and do what he said….but there will be no use……..

Here you are in your grave…. Questioning About salat (prayer) will start….

What will be Your answer???

No???

"I have Created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me". (51:56)

The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: "between a person and disbelief is the discarding of prayer"

Iman Nawawi said while explaing this hadith: The prayer is like a barrier between kufr(disbelief) and Islam, so whoever does not perform prayer he will enter in kufr (he will be a disbeliever).

Do you want to be a disbeliever?? Wake up…Theres no time

Say: Allahumamagh-firli warhamni wahdini….

O’Allah forgive me and have mercy on me and guide me…

BECAUSE

The Quran says: "Whomsoever Allah guides none can lead astray and whomsoever he leads astray none can guide"

So ask Allah (swt) to forgive you and Guide you…

Inshallah Allah will forgive us all, truly Allah is All-forgiving and All-merciful

We seek Help from Allah and depend upon him. There is neither nor power except with Allah, The All-mighty. O Allah, send prayers and salutions and blessing on Muhammad, His family and his companions (p.b.u.t.a). And All praise is to Allah, the lord of all that exits.

Remember there is no excuse for salat.

If you REALLY think that loada will make the slightest difference to me or my life, dream on.

Why is it so easy to go to Hell?

Shave or trim the beard - go to hell.
Miss a prayer - go to hell.
Disobey your parents once - go to hell.
Don’t shave your head during Hajj - go to hell
Don’t wear the Hijab - go to hell

Sometimes, I feel that Islam is a strict religion and leaves us with no choice. If we do not follow even one of the Prophet’s (Peace be upon him) acts, we are doomed for ever. Questioning too much is not allowed. Refusing is not allowed. Choosing your own way is not allowed. Getting scared of the world around you (because of which you may not want to follow or do something) is not allowed. We have to change ourselves for the Shariah - all its rules, whether we like them or not. The Shariah will never change for us.

I know that Islam is a flawless religion, and obeying its rules will only give us pleasure, but it’s strict. If it’s so easy to go to Hell, then who will make it to Paradise? No one? Why can’t we choose our own ways in some cases?

Also, how can one gain Allah’s pleasure? Why is it so hard to do this? Why does Allah get displeased so easily? Has the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) made life harder for us with all those extra rules? What do you feel? Speak your heart out, please.

May Allah forgive me if I’ve said anything wrong. I have no intention whatsoever to insult Islam or our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). May Allah guide us all to the straight path.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu.

I don’t think so.For the limits of the permissible are broad, and are quite adequate for man’s desire; there is no need to trespass on the forbidden. The duties imposed by Allah SWT are light and few in number. To be the slave and soldier of Allah is an indescribably pleasurable honour. One’s duty is simply to act and embark on all things in Allah’s name, like a soldier; to take and to give on Allah’s behalf; to move and be still in accordance with His permission and law. If one falls short, then one should seek His forgiveness.

What are your thoughts on this~ Easy Actions Equal in Reward to Hajj?

Muslim reported that the Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam said, "…Hasn’t Allah made for you Salat Al-`Ishaa’ in congregation equal to Hajj, and the Fajr prayer in congregation equal to `Umrah."

"Whoever walks to an obligatory prayer in congregation, it is like Hajj, and whoever walks to a voluntary prayer, it is like a voluntary `Umrah." (Saheeh Al Jaami`, 6432)

"Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the Sun rises, then prays two units of prayer, he will receive the reward of Hajj, and `Umrah - complete, complete, complete." (Saheeh Al Jaami`, 6222)

It is authentically reported that people said, "O Messenger of Allah! The rich took the reward of akhirah, they do Hajj and we do not; they engage in jihaad, and we do not. So the Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said, "Shall I not guide you to something that, if you stick to it, you will come with what is better than what one of them will come with: that you say Allahu Akbar 34 times, and Subhan Allah 33 times, and Alhamdulillah 33 times, at the end of every prayer."

"When one prays for one’s brother, the angel says: ‘Amin, and for you the same.’" (Saheeh Al Jaami`, 2143) So pray for your brother pilgrim that Allah accepts his Hajj and gives him its reward.

The objectives behind these kind of reports ascribed to the Prophet Pbuh is clear, that is to emphasis rituals which is in complete contrast to what Quran emphasis, deeds and whenever Salat is mentioned almost always it is accompanied by the giving of Zakat. Quran brings it home beautifully;

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous. Quran 2:177

Where does the Quran say Moses or Isa went on Hajj to saudi or prayed 5 times a day?

;ool at this hadith~
3:95 Say: God bears truth. Follow the creed of Abraham, monotheism, and he was not of the polytheists.

6:161 Say: My Lord has guided me to a straight path, an upright system, the creed of Abraham the monotheist; he was not of the polytheists.

If the creed /milat of Abraham is incumbent on all people why didn’t we have record that other Prophets did these rituals?
right how about a verse that says they did that> ie went and performed the rituals in Saudi if they followed the milat of Abraham surely if it is right to do those things they would of done them. right?

The 5 prayers per day thing is actually borrowed from the zoroastrian.

Ramadan::: Hajj at 16?

I’ve turned myself around COMPLETELY! Alhamdulilah, Allah(swt) has guided me back onto the right path. I’ve repented mysins and I know what i need mostly right now is to perform hajj. Is 16 too young?

Bonus question,
Have you performed Hajj before? how was your experience?

Jazakallah-khair:))

Mashallah your display picture is beautiful. I can never find those kind rofl.
I’m 16 too and if i could perform Hajj now i wouldn’t think twice about it! Do it because you don’t know if you will be alive to see 17.

[Ramadan] What do think of this way of deduction? (Inspired by white horse)?

This question taught me to be careful about my way of reasoning:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnJoAJkq2mg7.Fsnrw_Npmvty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100403063050AAm3aJa

When "we intend Kaaba" (in Hajj ritual) in fact "we intend Allah". (Isn’t right sentence?)

So let me do some algebraic manipulations like white horse:
we intend Kaaba=we intend Allah
we intend Kaaba - (we intend)=we intend Allah - (we intend)
Kaaba=Allah

—–> We are all mushrik!

I didn’t intend to insult anyone! I just wanted to say:
please be careful in your reasoning! (It is a warning for myself too)

However, brother white horse uses worst words describing me, but I still consider him as Muslim!
May Allah Guide all of us to right path!
@ brother WH:
intend= ???(????)?
@ brother WH:
intend= ???(????)?
@ Rosy Pear:
alaykum assalaam

Sister, thank u for appreciating my Q!
You are right. What God forbids cannot be adopted as waseelah to get close to him. For e.g. we cannot cohabit with non-Muslim to tender Islam to them! That is wrong! WE can only use the approaches approved by God to get close to him.
According to what we have learned calling on ahlulbayt and interceding them is one of the approved and suggested approaches according to God, Koran, Sunnah and our Ahadith. When u deny the possibility of this being this approach by God we cannot go further. By ur denial God should be weak because he cannot choose the the way for his servants to get close to him! Again and again ur beautiful verses has no contradiction with what I believe in!
@ WH:
thank u: ???? (?????) is even better translation!
Why in this verse
?????? ???? ? ?????? ?????? ? ???? ????? ????

God has not said "Obey Allah and then Obey Rasul"

?????? ???? ??????? ?????? ? ???? ????? ????

nevertheless, I agree with u and the who idea intended in your hadith. Yes, even if we say the prophet name without "then" after Allah. We do believe that "Isalah ?????" is for God’s will and obeying him!

Yes we do believe that when we call on ahlulbayt we do believe that we intend God and "Isalah ?????" in our intention is for God not for his creatures!

May Allah bless Muhammad and Ali Muhammad!
@ WH
when Christians call on Jesus they consider him an independent power, The one who can accept their pleas excluding God’s power and his desire! and that is shirk! For God’s sake once and just once think about what I say! I am sure u will understand what is thee different between what we say and what Christians say!
* difference
@ WH:
Thank u so much bubt it was not new lesson for me! and let remind something:
waw al-atf can atf two words as well as sentence! So those who came to prophet(saww) could intend "wav al-aft" and not "ma’iyah". So why did prophet criticize them!
Nevertheless, I did not reject your hadith. u can read what I wrote for u again and find my point!

he might not understand your equation :P

This might be long, but any advice for me?

Salaam Alaikum,

I am a sophomore in college, and I love my religion with all my heart. Islam is my reason for living. Here is how I show my devotion to it:

- I pray 5 times a day. I even wake up at 6:00 AM to pray Fajr.
- I read some quran before bedtime
- I fast during Ramadan
- I go to Friday prayer when I do not have class
- I do not cheat or backbite; I always am honest with my family
- Insha Allah, I plan to go to Hajj soon
- I do not drink alcohol and do not party
- I am a virgin
- I wear hijab; all my clothes are loosely fitted. If my pants are tight, I always have a long shirt to cover my body.
- I give Zakat
- I say "Bism Allah" and "Hamdullah" as many times as I can during the day
- I’m a Sunday school teacher

In college, I am studying to be a professor of English literature. That is my main career goal insha Allah. Also, I would like to get my degree in directing. I enjoy the theater arts, but of course, I never let them interfere with my religion. I direct with my hijab and with modesty.
I live with my grandparents, and I do have a sister, but she lives alone. I am feeling very upset, and I feel bad because the Prophet (S) said "Do not become angry." I just cannot help it. So, please tell me what to do.
My grandmother hurt my feelings one day. She wanted me to meet this Arab man to consider for marriage. I did meet him, but I did not like him that way. I have a non-Muslim friend who I like, and he has expressed interest in me. HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND al Hamulillah. I know the rules very well. A Shaykh once told me to make dua and be faithful and insha Allah, he will be guided to Islam. If he converts, I would like to marry him.
My grandmother hurts me when she talks about him, calling him a kafir and saying that I better not cause a scandal to our family, when she knows that I love my religion more than anything in the world. I won’t marry him if he won’t convert; she knows that. She is even angry with me for being in theater; she says it’s okay for me to enjoy it, but she doesn’t want me to direct on the side.

My sister used to be so supportive of me. Sometimes, she would even say that I was being ridiculous and being too religious and uptight. Now, she is being a hypocrite. I do not like to talk about people, but she is not very religious, and now she’s saying that I’m on a thin line and that I am going to be a sinner. (She doesn’t pray, she lives alone, she doesn’t read Quran every day, etc.)
My brothers and sisters, please know that I love my family with all my heart. I am a good Muslim girl al Hamdulliah and I will never EVER be tempted by the Shaytan. Why can’t my family understand me and why are they so critical of all my actions? My grandfather is the only one who seems to support me; he thinks I’m creative and gifted and a very good Muslimah. I feel like the women in my family just criticize and manipulate.

You seem to pay a lot of attention of the opinion of people around you and that’s not good it you care that much . You know yourself well , you’re wise and a good Muslimah . You don’t need the approval of anyone as long as you know what you’re doing is right and you have to show them that you don’t really care about their opinions of your actions because your happiness and peace of mind is more important than to make everyone else happy with what you do , It’s your life and not theirs so let them mind their own business and leave you live the way you want it live it and not the way they want it to be .

Peace!
