A question on rain, and your Duaa’s for the Hujjaj as well as the people in Saudi Arabia?
Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh. May Allah S.W.T. keep everyone in good health, Insha Allah.
I haven’t been really keeping tab on the news for the past few days, but I just discovered that Saudi Arabia is beleaguered with massive flash floods, and the death toll now stands at 100:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8384832.stm
As most of us know, when it is raining, it is taken as a sign of mercy (Rahmah) by Allah S.W.T., and it supplicating to Allah S.W.T. during this time is highly recommended (Mustahab). My question is, which type of rain is the rain of mercy? When rain causes massive floods and (possibly) cylcones, etc. is it still counted as a the rain of mercy, or is it considered as a punishment by Allah S.W.T. upon the people in that particular area?
And lastly, please make Duaa’ that the casualty recedes and the Hajj pilgrims are safe and sound, Insha Allah.
And before this happens, I would like to warn those who wish to coerce me with ‘anti-Wahhabi information’, that I do not have the time to hear your fanatic theories. I live in Saudi Arabia (though I’m not there at the moment). I know what the people are like, how the government works, etc. and I do not agree with some of the ways of the Saudi government itself, and whatever you wish to say to me is not something new. I’ve heard them all. But here, I am just asking you to make Duaa’, at least for the safety of the Hujjaj if not the Saudis (if you so much bear hatred for any Saudi because you assume that they are Wahhabi, when they are in fact, Muslims like you are).
Waleikumussalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu.
Alhamdulillah the Hujjaj were not affected by the floods…but even if they were it would be a blessing for them as they were out in Allah(swt)s path
I think floods are a form of mercy too, because a believer who dies from flooding/earthquakes etc is a matyr(or so i’ve been told- Allah knows best)…
but as the family members grieve this is a form of hardship upon them to remove their sins.
May Allah protect us all and may He grant patience to the families of the deceased.
