How much money does Saudi arabia earn from hajj business…?

I heard net profit at about 50 million dollars each year. Mostly through travel agencies and local businesses. Are the Saudi "kings" making this sacred ritual…a booming profitable business for saudi economy? Hajj cost is ridiculously rising day by day. Each and every muslim around the world should think…am i spending my own hard earned money to fullfill my responsibility towards Allâh or to fully fill the pocket and for the lavish lifestyle of saudi people(specially the "royal" family)? Hajj Pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam. And of course it will cost money. But this hajj money certainly in no way should provide a saudi an extravagant lifestyle.
Every year many hajis die because of stampede or fire or flood or any other disaster or accident. I think the money should only be spend for: ….only in construction and maintenance of religious site and structures, maintenance and safety of the Hajj pilgrims.
I think there should be a separation of religious tourism economy from the mainstream saudi economy. What do you think?

And how do U know that there is no separation of religious tourism economy from the mainstream Saudi economy?
The money they earn from the pilgrims is going towards the maintenance of the holy Kaaba and the pemises of the grand masjid.
The lavish lifestyle of the royal family does not need this money. They get it from their oil wells.

I think Hajj is pretty expensive, but I don’t think the "royal" family gets their money from Hajj, they get it from oil. Also, they are making a lot of improvements; however, accidents do occur with so many people at one place at the same time.

this is pathetic , if we already know how much they are making in every year then what the hell on earth do we have to go there and make the so call ” hajj ” ?? i still don’t undestand why most muslims go to this place , we already know Allah is’t there so why are they still going this old stone house ??

i guess most moslims are just a useful idiots like the christians and the hindus

I think that the Saudi government spends a lot of money and invests a lot of time to try and make the Hajji’s experience as smooth as possible. If you have been for hajj recently (like i have) you will see a lot more facilities and forces and volunteers out there to help the pilgrims.

Even if they take so much money I wouldn’t complain because we can see for our self where the money is being used. I am quite happy with the way the Saudi government is dealing with the situation. A few deaths are unwarranted.

Last year there were no casualties during hajj BECAUSE of the government’s negligence.

i’m sick of arabs, they should change their goverment but they won’t, because they happy with that kind of life, the kingdom ensure their wealth. and wahabis sect is bullshit, it take islam to backward, but they’re hypocrite by not doing their own doctrine.

This is absurd. 50 million dollars is peanuts, and if they did make that money, it does not go to the government. It would probably go to the organizing agencies form different countries. Do you know how much the government spent to build the last formation of the Jamaraat structure? I dunno, around 3 billion dollars?

I’m seeing a lot of haters here. What happened to a Islamic brotherhood? :(
