Where does the Quran say Hajj is at a max 2 weeks is it not months?
2:197-The Pilgrimage months are made known. So whoever decides to perform the Pilgrimage therein, then there shall be no sexual approach, nor wickedness, nor baseless argument in the Pilgrimage. And any good that you do, God is aware of it; and bring provisions for yourselves, though the best provision is righteousness; and be aware of Me O you who possess intelligence.
why is Hajj sold in tour packages of a few weeks when it is clearly months?

Dear once again you failed, Hajj is not just a few weeks, Hajj is 40 days longer!
And 2nd Its Ummrah, which is a week or so!!

Slayer, I think the government can’t keep the doors open for ever for pilgrims you know they do have to arrange things. It is a great responsibility to take care of millions coming from all over the world and try to provide the best for them and it is easy to sit on a revolving chair fiddle some books and think O I understand what Allah is trying to say, with out studying world needs.My dad has a Hajj and Umrah business and hajjies start to go from the month of Shawal until the month of Safar. Yes the hajj days are only approx a week but hajjies pour in from after Ramadan so no need to make big issues out of things, you don’t understand completely.
Edit: And as for the packages the weeks are specified by the country you are coming from they want to make more money so they make the packages short and take extra profit out of it . Plus some people from many parts can’t come for so long as they have business to run so they only come for a week or even 5 days.

As per Quran Hajj can be performed during certain month, these months were well known for centuries prior to Islam, which are namely: Shawal, Zilquda, and Zilhuja. Any Muslim can do the Hajj in any of these three month for a minimum period of two days (according to Quran) only in any of the three. Although if one likes to, he can stay in Hajj for a maximum of the full three above-mentioned months. So the period of Hajj ranges from two days to three month, the timing which is most important is during the specified months. But as for travel packages, plenty of Saudies would be happy to learn what the Quran have said, this will make them earn more money, but unfortunately they only learn what Bedouin sheiks say.
