Read and Study Quran and ask for Allah's forgiveness
as Al-Qur'an says
[5]. Surah Al-Ma'idah [The Table Spread With Food]

Ayat 34. Except for those who (having fled away and then) came back (as Muslims) with repentance before they fall into your power; in that case, know that Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Hadith
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [S.A.W.W](P.B.U.H) said, "Allah says: `I am just as My slave thinks of Me when he remembers Me.' By Allah! Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His slave than one of you who unexpectedly finds in the desert his lost camel. `He who comes closer to Me one span, I come closer to him a cubit; and he who comes closer to Me a cubit, I come closer to him a fathom; and if he comes to Me walking, I come to him running".
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ma'idah Ayat 34 "with repentance before they fall into your power; in that case, know that Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful". This Hadith highlights the merits of sincere repentance and then expecting good treatment of Allah. But this has to be backed by good actions, in the same way as one can hope for good results after ploughing and sowing seeds. It is obvious that one who accomplishes good deeds will expect good consequences, and one who does evil deeds will expect evil consequences. Allah will treat people according to their expectation that are founded on their actions, and the reward will match their deeds.
References :
Increase your iman.
That is the ONLY way you can become a good Muslim.
How do you do this?
Listen to Qur'an recitations, PRAY, carry out small deeds during the day, help your mother, etc.
Only when you have the inner strength can you overcome Shaytan.

Peace.
References :
And I feel the answer I gave was pretty much the answer as I've come to understand it. Inshallah you will find it to be true.

just remember Allah, listen to Islamic music, like Sami Yusuf, listen to Surahs. Even when watching Tv or ding whatever, just recite "Laila ilalah" or "Allahu Akbar" to urself. After a while, u wont need these methods to remind u, u will naturally remember Allah and stay away from haram.

FYI, human being are by nature sinful, this doesnt justify it rather t explains it, so dont kill ur self over a sin or sins sister. The fact that u r inquiring about this is beautiful.

Firstly , whatever Islam forbids is harmful and troubles the human's life in a way or another. Here are some bad effects of sins http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/23425/sins

Secondly, it's the nature of the human that he sins. But Islam urges the muslim to quit any sins and make repentance whenever he does any , even if he does them again and again. http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/45887/sins

Thirdly , it depends on the human's will and decision and this is the test of this life. In the hereafter there will be a big difference between those who tried their best to obey Allah taala , and those who have done whatever they desired neglecting Allah's commands.

May Allah subhanhu wataala forgive us all.
References :
http://www.islam-qa.com/en/search2/sins/AllWords/t,q,a

Keep on asking for forgiveness, and try your utmost to stop doing Haram things.

We should always keep in mind that we'll have to face "Judgement Day".
