Since Jesus supposedly visited here, there are various Jesus sites scattered all over. Like that Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built where he was crucified and stuff.

How about going so you find out about other cultures. You might find out your faith means less than nothing to most of the people not involved in the tourist trade in Jerusalem.

Because it is a major site in Christianity, and many events that are important to them happened there.
It is the same reason that people do pilgrimages to holy sites in the UK and Europe. Usually it is a time of reflection, meditation, and prayer.

They think they are pleasing their GOD and are therefore more likely to get into their Heaven - Pathetic Humans and their stupid cults keeping the world in the Dark Ages!!
If they had any real FAITH they wouldn’t have to go on a pilgrimage, also, if any of you out there have real FAITH my words should not ROCK you!

There is no reason for a Christian to make a pilgrimage unto Jerusalem. That city turned against God approximately 2700 years ago and God forsook them then. He later sent His only begotten Son and those who believed hearkened unto the words of Christ. Those whose hearts were hardened listened not and do not listen unto this day.
What do believers have to do with unbelievers except spreading the Gospel of Christ that all may hear? We should be sending missionaries, not pilgrims to that fallen land.
There is nothing holy in the earth for our Father is in Heaven. He will come to us no more until after the old heaven and the old earth pass away and a new heaven and a new earth are created for His Son’s Kingdom. Then He will be with the faithful forever and ever.
Do not rely upon the wisdom of men, particularly those who do not believe for they will corrupt your soul and fill your heart with lies. Hearken unto the Lord, follow His Word, believe in Him and trust in Him.
