What is the difference between a Pilgrimage and holiday with a visit to holy places?
Jhon it isnt going to be fun if you have a cold
A Pilgrimage is a long journey and solemn, spiritual.
A holiday visit sounds more of recreational purpose.
When I was catholic I always wanted to do a pilgrimage to Santiago the Compostela in Spain, walking from North of France or maybe from Portugal.
I still want to go there but as a vacation and probably still hike from another country.

When we say pilgrimage; our main intension is all the way towards GOD. We dont dibert our mind elsewhere.
But holiday witha avisit to holy places makes; is a visit to enjoy the days & going to worship only for the name sake. I mean our main intension is to enjoy our holidays & worship is only a part of our journey.

pilgrimage is a journey to a sacred place or shrine of importance to a person’s beliefs and faith. Members of every major religion participate in pilgrimages. A person who makes such a journey is called a pilgrim.
Pilgrimage is done with the intention to please the Almighty God. Hajj in islaam is obligatory and it should be done once in life time. But if its done without intention then the reward will not be given in the hearafter.
